The rain is fantastic for nature, and with the right conditions, dancing in the rain can be a celebration. Unfortunately, the conditions at Animal Shelter Bonaire are far from ideal… Due to the heavy rainfall, the shelter’s courtyard and play areas often flood, forcing some of our dogs to stay in their kennels.
We are doing our best to maintain the grounds, but as we are currently overcrowded, most of our financial resources go towards the daily care of all our beloved animals. This leaves us with little to address critical maintenance tasks.
Now that the rainy season is in full swing, we urgently need your help. Our goals include:
* Covering parts of the grounds
* Raising the edges around some of the enclosures
* And our biggest wish: adding concrete flooring to certain areas, so the animals can stay dry and safe
With enough financial support, we can hire a contractor to tackle these issues.
