This fuzzy little black and white puppy is called “Evo.” He was discovered in miserable circumstances by someone who called Animal Welfare who sent a Good Samaritan out to bring him into the Bonaire Animal Shelter. He had been tied up on a short chain, he was malnourished and totally unhappy. “Evo is a very special puppy,” we were told by one of the staff. “He has recovered from his horrible early life and is just a fantastic dog. He deserves a real good home.”
Evo is only 11 weeks old but his bright personality already shows through. And what a funny face he has – he’s alert and comical. Just to look at him will make you laugh. The vet has declared him fit and healthy. He’s had his shots and worming and tests and he’s ready to go to the right home.
You may see him at the Shelter on the Lagoen Road, open Monday through Saturday, 9 am to 1 pm, 3 to 5 pm. Tel. 717-4989.
In past years the Shelter has had a stand at the Rincon Day festivities on Thursday, April 30. They sell all sorts of things for cats and dogs from their pet shop, Tshirts and flea market items that have been donated by caring people. All proceeds go to the Shelter to help keep it open for unwanted cats and dogs on the island. See you there!
